According to a report in the Birmingham Mail, Aston Villa are hoping to keep hold of Jordan Amavi, despite being relegated to the Championship.
Amavi was one of Villa’s best performers over the opening months of this past campaign, but he has been ruled out since November with injury.
The French full-back ruptured his cruciate ligament, meaning he was powerless as Villa slumped to relegation.
Amavi is now reportedly attracting the attention of a range of clubs across Europe, but Villa are determined not to lose him on the cheap.
The Claret and Blues want at least £9 million for the 22-year-old, if they are to even consider selling him.
Villa are expecting to offload the majority of their current squad, but Amavi is a player who they would like to keep around.
It seems that the Midlands side may not be under too much pressure to sell, as they are on the verge of a takeover.
Dr Tony Xia is set to take over control of Villa, and the Chinese businessman has already set his sights on an immediate return to the Premier League.
