Sheffield Wednesday are due to face Hull City in the Championship play off final.
Neil Warnock has told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast Show, which was broadcast on 19th May, that Sheffield Wednesday have a chance of upsetting the odds against Hull City in the Championship play off final.
Wednesday are set to take on Hull in two Saturdays’ time, in what looks set to be a very exciting match.
The Owls head into the contest as outsiders, but Warnock has talked up their chances of beating the Tigers.
“I wouldn’t write them off,” Warnock said. “They have players like Forestieri and Hooper who could trouble Hull.
“Hull have more experience, but as they showed against Derby they can have their days when they freeze. Steve [Bruce] will be hoping it’s not one of those days.
“Wednesday have nothing to lose and it’ll be a cracking game.”
Wednesday confirmed their place in the play off final by beating Brighton & Hove Albion in the semi-final.
The Owls won the first leg of the contest 2-0, and they then picked up a 1-1 draw at the AMEX Stadium to ensure that they made it to Wembley.
Hull’s progress to the final was a lot less comfortable, after Derby County almost staged an unlikely comeback.
Hull won 3-0 at the iPro Stadium in the first leg of the tie, and it seemed that they would cruise to the final, but Derby managed to get back into the contest.
The Rams raced into a 2-0 lead at the KC Stadium to set nerves jangling, but Hull held on to ensure that they booked their place at the national stadium.
