Game of Thrones could kill this character to remind us how brutal the show is

Could we be about to see another big death on Game of Thrones?

This article contains spoilers and potential spoilers for Game of Thrones.

The latest episode of Game of Thrones made the vast majority of viewers feel all warm and fuzzy inside – at least for a few minutes – as Sansa Stark reunited with her half-brother Jon at Castle Black.

That is not a feeling you generally associate with a show that takes great pleasure in killing off much loved characters, and while for now the Starks appear to be on the up, there is a concern things could be about to take a turn for the worse.

This is Game of Thrones after all, and with Sansa and Jon in possession of a wildling army and (soon) the knights of the Vale, and Bran off travelling through time with a bloke in a tree, that leaves one poor Stark who could be used as a reminder that we should never let our guard slip when watching this show.

Rickon has only just returned after years in the wilderness, but if anyone is going to bite the bullet before Jon and Sansa inevitably reclaim Winterfell as their own it is the youngest of the Starks.

Ramsay will know the castle is not truly his as long as there is a male Stark heir, and while he is currently using Rickon as bait to draw his siblings into battle there is nothing stopping him doing what he did so callously to Osha just last week now the pink letter has been sent.

Conspiracy theories abound that Rickon is actually part of a bigger picture involving the Umbers and possibly even Littlefinger. However something suggests the Starks have not finished suffering just yet, and with Jon untouchable, Bran elsewhere and Sansa and Arya surely living until the end that leaves poor Rickon to suffer the same fate as his parents and his brother before him.

It could of course end up rosy for all. But come on, this is Game of Thrones, and by now we really should know better.
