Game of Thrones season six episode five airs in the US this Sunday and in the UK on Monday.
This article contains spoilers for Game of Thrones.
The most recent episode of Game of Thrones has been hailed by all as a glorious return to form, so expectation for season six’s next instalment is understandably high.
While details about the midway point in the season are sparse, the Independent has published a series of pictures for the upcoming episode, entitled The Door.
In them we see Arya in the room of faces, Sansa reunited with the treacherous Littlefinger at Castle Black, a new Red Woman, a fresh image of the Children of the Forest and, most exciting of all, Bran coming face to face with the Night’s King.
The latter image will no doubt come from a flashback – or indeed a flash-forward – and suggests the Starks are going to have a big part to play in the next hour of the show.
Littlefinger’s arrival at Castle Black also suggests the reunions are not going to let up as characters that have previously been split far and wide begin to form the army that could ultimately save humanity from the threats beyond the wall.
Before that there is the not so small matter of reclaiming Winterfell for the Starks; let’s just hope Petyr Baelish is not going to betray Sansa again having previously left her to suffer at the hands of the despicable Ramsay Bolton.
