Europa League final: Liverpool versus Sevilla combined XI

Combined XI

Liverpool take on Sevilla in the Europa League final tonight.

The clash between Liverpool and Sevilla in the Europa League final tonight is sure to be a fascinating encounter.

Both sides have enjoyed similar league campaigns, with Liverpool finishing eighth in the Premier League and Sevilla seventh in La Liga.

Indeed, both have somewhat sacrificed their league standings to focus on the Europa League and try to secure the Champions League place that is afforded to the winners.

There will be key clashes all across the field, with the game likely to rest on whichever team can win the midfield battle.

It is fair to say that the two teams are well matched, but who comes out on top in a combined XI? Oulala decided to find out.

And surprisingly, it was a clear win for Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool as they come out as 9-2 victors.

Combined XI

That starts in goal, with Simon Mignolet the chosen goalkeeper, although this was by default given David Soria Solis has no La Liga appearances this year.

In defence, Nathaniel Clyne, Dejan Lovren and Alberto Moreno, a former Sevilla star, are all in, although Adil Rami manages to beat competition from Kolo Toure.

The midfield is entirely dominated by Liverpool as Emre Can, James Milner, Adam Lallana, Roberto Firmino and Philippe Coutinho make up the five.

Perhaps the most surprising in there is Can getting in ahead of Grzegorz Krychowiak.

Up front though Sevilla are the winners, as Kevin Gameiro dominates Daniel Sturridge in the stats.
