Valencia midfielder Andre Gomes has a strong chance of moving to Manchester United this summer, according to reports.
The Sun reported earlier this week that United were likely to miss out on the £40 million valued player to Juventus, but these claims appear to be premature.
The Todomercadoweb report states that relations between United and Valencia are strong, anticipating a potential deal to be done this summer.
Gomes is represented by agent Jorge Mendes, who is also the agent of potential United boss Jose Mourinho.
It is unlikely a deal would be done without Mourinho's appointment at Old Trafford, but while United fans continue to wait on a decision on their next manager, the Gomes deal will be placed on ice too.
With United's finances superior to Juventus it makes sense Valencia would attempt to try and get top money for the 22-year-old, who could potentially be a long term replacement for Michael Carrick.
