Rafael Benitez is currently deciding his future at Newcastle United.
Mick Quinn has posted on Twitter that he has heard Rafael Benitez’s future at Newcastle United could be wrapped up within the next two days.
Benitez had been expected to leave St. James’ Park, after the Tynesiders' relegation was confirmed.
The Spaniard deliberately arranged a clause which would mean he was free to leave if the North East side were relegated when he first took the job.
However, Benitez appears to have had a change of heart and now wants to stay on as boss.
Benitez has requested that he has assurances regarding his role at Newcastle - which include him having full control of transfers.
And Quinn says that a deal is now close to being completed between Quinn and Mike Ashley.
All I know is that the deal is close to being finalised with Rafa,he wants certain assurances on the football side,if he gets them it's done— Mick Quinn (@mickquinn1089) May 18, 2016

Benitez was given 10 games to save Newcastle last season, after taking over from Steve McClaren, but despite sparking an improvement he was not able to guide them out of the bottom three.
Newcastle finished this past season in 18th place - two points behind safety.
