Bundesliga side Mainz are already looking at replacements for Loris Karius, German website FussballTransfers report.
Karius has been strongly linked with a transfer to Liverpool, with Kicker reporting a deal was 'almost certain' to eventually go ahead.
The 22-year-old goalkeeper, who was once on Manchester City's books, is highly rated and would compete with Simon Mignolet for a first team spot.
FussballTransfers report that Mainz already have three replacements in mind if Karius' release clause is met by Liverpool, indicating that privately there may be an acceptance they will lose the talented shot stopper.
Former Manchester United trainee Ron Robert Zieler of Hannover and Timon Wellenreuther of Schalke are both on their radar, along with Hoffenheim's Marko Maric.
Liverpool are playing in the Europa League final this evening against Sevilla, and once the dust settles from the result, it is likely the Reds will step up their efforts in the transfer market, with the 2015/16 season then officially over for them.
