The 26-year-old has been linked with a switch to the Premier League after a stunning season in ltaly.
Gianluca Lapadula has seemingly opened the door for a move to Premier League champions Leicester City by admitting his admiration for Jamie Vardy and suggesting that he would love to play alongside the Foxes' forward, The Sun reports.
The Sun claims that while Juventus are also interested in the 26-year-old, a personal call from Claudio Ranieri has seen the English side jump to the front of the queue.
And Lapadula has done little to dampen the rumours by discussing the idea of forming a partnership with Leicester's talisman.
"I love Vardy. He's fantastic - I could really see myself playing alongside him," he told The Sun.
"We both like the same style of football and are physically very similar.
"Me and him together? The King Power would explode!
"We would be dynamite together. We would be like two gladiators going into battle."
With Ranieri looking to build a squad capable of challenging for the title once again as well as making an impression in the Champions League, the Pescara forward would arguably be an excellent addition.
He has scored 26 goals in just 39 league games for the Serie B side. And with only two of his players reaching double figures this term, Ranieri may feel that that is the kind of form which will help the side reach the next level.
And while some may be concerned that Lapadula will have a problem replicating that form in the top flight, should he move to the King Power Stadium, Ranieri will just point to what former non-league forward Vardy has done, and what the team has achieved this past season as proof that writing him off would be foolish.
