Derby County players react on Twitter to play off exit

Derby County West Stand

Derby County beat Hull City 2-0 at the KC Stadium yesterday, but it was not enough.

A host of Derby County players have expressed their disappointment on social media site Twitter, after the Rams failed to qualify for the play off final.

Derby were tasked with overcoming a three-goal deficit in the second leg at the KC Stadium yesterday, and although they made a valiant attempt - they could not quite get over the line.

Darren Wassall’s side picked up a 2-0 victory at the KC Stadium, but they just could not do enough to turn the tie around.

Derby could have folded at the KC Stadium, given the scale of their task, but right from the start the Midlands side were on top against Steve Bruce’s men.

Derby scored early on through Johnny Russell, before an own goal from Andrew Robertson set nerves racing amongst the home supporters.

Hull showed their resilience to hold on, though, and Derby’s players were disappointed to have come so close to winning the tie.

The likes of George Thorne, Will Hughes, Andreas Weimann, Jeff Hendrick and Cyrus Christie all reacted on social media site Twitter after the match.

Hull are now set to face Sheffield Wednesday in the play off final at Wembley.
