Christian Eriksen has shown glimpses of his magical potential this season, but not on a consistent enough basis.
The former Ajax man made 35 Premier League appearances for the Lilywhites over this past season, scoring six goals and registering an impressive 13 assists, but his performances seemed to tail of in the final four games, as Spurs dropped to third in the table below fierce rivals Arsenal.
The Standard claims that Eriksen's deal, which still has two years left to run, is worth a reported £30,000 a week, but the Denmark international wants that doubled at the least. With rumoured interest from a club the size of Juventus, it may prove difficult for the North London side to keep hold of one of their prized assets.
The challenge for Tottenham over the summer will be in keeping their stars while proving their ambition by bringing in more world-class talent to supplement the fantastic side they already have.
