Manchester United, Leicester City, West Ham United and Manchester City players make the list.

Former West Ham United and Manchester City winger Trevor Sinclair has explained on social networking site Twitter why he did not include a single Tottenham Hotspur player in his Premier League Team of the Season.

Tottenham have finished in the top four of the Premier League this campaign and have been truly brilliant.

The North London outfit have a number of good players in their squad, such as striker Harry Kane, midfielder Dele Alli and defender Toby Alderweireld.

However, no Spurs players have made it into Sinclair’s team, with the former England international explaining his decision on Twitter.

The former Queens Park Rangers winger has named Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea, Leicester City stars Danny Simpson, Robert Huth, Riyad Mahrez, N'Golo Kante, and Jamie Vardy, West Ham United left-back Aaron Cresswell and attacking midfielder Dimitri Payet, Southampton central defender Virgil van Dijk, and Manchester City duo Kevin De Bruyne and Sergio Aguero in his team.

Alderweireld has been the best central defender in the Premier League this season, and it is hard to see why he has been snubbed by Sinclair for Southampton’s Van Dijk.

The former Celtic centre-back did make mistakes in the opening months of the Premier League, although it must be acknowledged that he has now fully adapted to the English game.

Manchester City striker Aguero is world class and is better than Tottenham’s Kane, but the England international has had a better season and has scored more important goals for his team.
