Report: Roma want to keep Wojciech Szczesny but Arsenal demand £15.7million

The Arsenal star has been on loan at Roma for the last year.

Serie A side Roma are keen to keep Arsenal loanee Wojciech Szczesny this summer, but the Gunners are demanding £15.7million for his services, reports Gazzetta World.

Szczesny left Arsenal on loan for Roma last summer, as the Gunners' capture of Petr Cech from Chelsea pushed him down the pecking order.

He has done relatively well at the Italian giants and all indications are that they would like to keep him permanently.

They are making a move to sign Alisson from Internacional, but are also keen on the Polish ‘keeper making the move permanent, too.

However, Roma are being thwarted by the asking price Arsenal have set for him, with Gazzetta World reporting that they are demanding £15.7million for their man.

Instead, they would rather agree to another loan deal for him so as to avoid causing problems with Alisson, who is tipped to be their number one in future.

Whether Arsenal are open to that remains to be seen, as there is every chance they will bring him back to act as number two to Cech and push David Ospina out the door.
