Jurgen Klopp has been in charge of Liverpool since October 2015.

Former Arsenal striker Alan Smith has told Sky Sports that Liverpool duo Adam Lallana and Roberto Firmino have improved under Jurgen Klopp.

Klopp was appointed the Liverpool manager in October 2015 following the dismissal of Brendan Rodgers.

The Reds have not been able to finish in the top four of the Premier League this season, but they have reached two cup finals.

The Merseyside outfit lost the League Cup final to Manchester City and will take on Sevilla in the Europa League final on Wednesday evening.

Smith has been impressed with the impact Klopp has made at Liverpool, and believes that the German has improved attacking midfielders Lallana and Firmino.

“He’s (Klopp) improved players such as Adam Lallana and Roberto Firmino,” the former Arsenal striker told Sky Sports. “He seems to be a good coach in the week and certainly a good man manager. The Liverpool fans should feel optimistic about being able to move up the table next season.”

Lallana scored four goals and created 49 chances in 30 Premier League appearances for Liverpool this season.

The England international attacking midfielder has scored three goals and created 21 chances in 12 Europa League matches this campaign.

Firmino scored 10 goals and created 48 chances in 31 Premier League games for the Reds this season.

The Brazil international attacking midfielder has scored one goal and created 21 chances in 12 Europa League appearances for Liverpool this campaign.
