Liverpool have had an up and down season, having started poorly, sacked Brendan Rodgers and then flourished under Jurgen Klopp.
The German has been a big hit at Anfield, leading them to two cup finals in just seven months in charge.
The second of those is the Europa League final, which they will contest against holders Sevilla in Basel.
A win would cap off a fine spell in charge so far, and affirm many people’s beliefs that something special is brewing at the club under Klopp.
And Mignolet says success in the competition would help to save their season, while the Champions League place would be a massive boost to the club.
“We know we can save our season by winning this trophy, especially as we would qualify for the Champions League,” he told the Mirror.
“We have a great chance to win the Europa League and qualify for the Champions League, which would be a massive boost for the club and for the young players in the squad.”
Liverpool will certainly be confident of securing a win in the final given the run they have had to get there.
They had to beat both Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund to reach to reach the final, as well overcoming trick opposition in Villareal in the semi final.
Sevilla are not to be taken lightly though, having won the competition for the last two years and determined to secure the Champions League place for themselves.
