Reported Rangers target’s former coach comments on potential Ibrox move

Niko Kranjcar

Ibrox side Rangers are reportedly interested in signing Niko Kranjcar in the summer transfer window.

Former Tottenham Hotspur and Queens Park Rangers coach Joe Jordan has told The Glasgow Evening Times that Niko Kranjcar would be a success at Rangers.

According to The Daily Record, Rangers are interested in signing Kranjcar in the summer transfer window when his current contract with New York Cosmos runs out.

Jordan worked with the attacking midfielder at Tottenham and QPR, and he believes that Croatian would be a good addition to the current Gers’ squad.

“He would have no problem whatsoever if he decided to go and play in Scotland,” Jordan told The Glasgow Evening Times about Kranjcar.

“He isn’t as old as Joey (Barton) and both of them are at an age where they have still got loads of ability and can still contribute in football.”

According to The Daily Record, signing Kranjcar in the summer transfer window would not be straightforward.

It has been reported that the 31-year-old’s decision to leave the USA for Scotland would depend on his movie-star girlfriend Zrinka Cvitesic.

The Daily Record has reported that Kranjcar is interested in switching to Rangers in the summer, but he would have to consider the wishes of Cvitesic, who has an acting career in the USA.

Rangers have won the Scottish Championship title this season and have gained automatic promotion to the Scottish Premiership.

The Glasgow giants have also clinched the Scottish Challenge Cup and will feature in the Scottish Cup final this month.
