Motherwell and Ross County are reportedly interested in signing Michael Duffy from Celtic on loan in the summer transfer window.

Motherwell and Ross County are interested in signing Michael Duffy on loan from Celtic in the summer transfer window, according to The Scottish Sun.

It has been reported that as many as six clubs in the Scottish Premiership want to sign the 21-year-old on a loan deal for the 2016-17 campaign.

The youngster joined Scottish Premiership champions Celtic from Derry City last year, but he has yet to make a breakthrough into the first team.

Duffy played on loan for Alloa Athletic this season and scored three goals, as Jack Ross’s side got relegated from the Scottish Championship to the Scottish League One.

Duffy is a talented young player, but he will not find it easy to make the step-up from the Scottish Championship to the Scottish Premiership next season.

Perhaps it would be best for the youngster if he has a good pre-season with Celtic, gets to know the new manager and then goes out on loan to a club in the Scottish Premiership for the first half of the 2016-17 campaign.
