Yaya Touré’s agent has said that Inter Milan are interested in his client, and that he expects significant news on a deal within ten days.
The Ivorian is widely expected to leave Manchester City with the impending arrival of Pep Guardiola in the summer, a manager who moved the Ivorian on from the Nou Camp the last time the two crossed paths in 2010.
And now his agent has confirmed that Roberto Mancini’s Inter Milan are keen on the powerhouse midfielder, but any potential move will depend on City.
"I know the Coach [Mancini] is crazy about Yaya and would like him at Inter,” his agent Dimitri Seluk confirmed, speaking to FCInterNews.
“That also applies to the player, who gets on very well with the Nerazzurri Coach. That said, I can’t say too much about his future right now. It’ll take 10 days for significant news.
“Questions should be addressed to Manchester City, because he’s a starter and he still has a contract until 2017.
“Is Inter a possibility? Yes, but as I said, it depends on Manchester City. We have many options and opportunities, but if the club doesn’t allow it we can’t say or do anything.
“We’ll see. We’ll wait a bit. In 10 days we’ll have some news.”
Touré has had a mixed bag of a season by his own standards, finding the net just six times compared to the 20 he scored in City’s title-winning season in 2014.
His form has most certainly declined this past season and this was confirmed by his abject performance at the Bernabeu in City’s Champions League defeat earlier in the month, where he gave the term lackadaisical a whole new meaning, providing no energy either defensively or going forward.
And with his former manager Mancini known to be a keen admirer of Touré, a potential move to the San Siro looks to be a highly likely prospect, if the two clubs can come to an agreement.
