West Ham United co-chairman David Sullivan has told the club's official website that he thinks Havard Nordtveit is a 'great addition' to the squad.
Borussia Monchengladbach star Havard Nordtveit has long been linked with a move to West Ham, and on Monday it paid off as the Norway international penned a five-year deal to return to London.
A former Arsenal youngster, the 25-year-old defensive midfielder - who can also play at centre back - arrives on a free transfer, with his Gladbach contract set to expire this summer.
Nordtveit arrives to add depth in the middle of the park with Alex Song's loan deal coming to an end, and on a free transfer, he looks to be a shrewd piece of business from manager Slaven Bilic and co-chairman David Sullivan.
After landing Nordtveit on Monday morning, Sullivan spoke to the club's official website about the deal, claiming that Nordtveit is a 'fantastic utility player' who has shown his quality at a high level already, having starred in the Bundesliga in recent years.
Sullivan added that he thinks West Ham fans will realise that Nordtveit is a 'top player' by this time next year, suggesting he will play a big role in Bilic's side at the Olympic Stadium next season.
"He's a fantastic utility player who is proven at the highest level," said Sullivan. "He is a great addition to our squad and I'm sure the supporters will realise he is a top player by this time next year," he added.
