The Spaniard has had a great season at Red Bull Salzburg.
One of the managers linked with the vacant Aston Villa job had a weekend to remember. Spaniard Oscar Garcia coached Red Bull Salzburg to an Austrian Bundesliga title and at the weekend he got to lift the trophy.
This week he will look to way to top off his excellent season with the club by winning the Austrian Cup, amid rumours he could be leaving.
When asked about his future Garcia had this to say, as quoted by 90 Minuten:
"I'm happy here, but it always depends on both parties.
"Many clubs are looking for coaches."
Spanish publication Sport suggested last week that Garcia is wanted by Aston Villa and three other unnamed Championship clubs, as well as teams from Turkey and Greece.
Garcia is said to be frustrated with losing players to fellow Red Bull-owned outfit RB Leipzig in Germany.
Garcia would bring Championship experience to the Aston Villa job. He has previously worked at both Brighton and Watford in the Championship – although ill health meant his Watford adventure was short-lived.
Aston Villa have been without a manager since Remi Garde’s departure in March. They also sacked Tim Sherwood in 2015-16 and will be playing in England’s second-tier next season.
