Rio Ferdinand makes an interesting observation about Arsenal and Tottenham on Twitter

Tottenham Hotspur have finished below Arsenal in the Premier League table this season.

Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has taken to social networking site Twitter to make an interesting observation about Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.

Arsenal have finished second in the Premier League table this season, while Tottenham have ended up third.

Tottenham were expected to finish second, but Mauricio Pochettino’s side suffered an embarrassing 5-1 defeat to relegated Newcastle on Sunday.

Arsenal hammered Aston Villa, who have also been relegated, 4-0 at the Emirates Stadium to edge ahead of their bitter North London rivals.

Ferdinand has made an interesting observation about the two club’s season on Twitter.

It is normal for Arenal to finish in the top four of the Premier League, while for Tottenham this has been a truly superb campaign.

Yet, the fact that the Gunners finished above Spurs suggests that there is still a considerable gap between the two teams.

What if Arsenal had a really great season instead of a ‘normal’ campaign? How far behind would Tottenham be?
