Ex-Ibrox defender Richard Gough has advice for Rangers boss Mark Warburton

Ibrox side Rangers will take on Hibernian in the final of the Scottish Cup this coming weekend.

Richard Gough has suggested in The Scottish Sun that Rangers manager Mark Warburton should include Martyn Waghorn in the starting lineup against Hibernian this coming weekend.

Rangers will take on Hibernian in the final of the Scottish Cup at Hampden Park in Glasgow on Saturday afternoon.

Waghorn has been arguably the Gers’ best player this season, and since he has recovered fully from his injury, he will be expected to start.

Former Rangers defender Gough believes that the former Sunderland and Leicester City forward should start against Hibernian.

“For me, Martyn Waghorn has to start,” the former Tottenham Hotspur defender wrote in The Scottish Sun. “Yes, he’s been out for a few months and won’t be at full speed. But he’s a potential match winner for Gers.

“He’s been the talisman for so much of the season. Waghorn makes things happen. When he gets on the ball cutting in from the right, there is a spark.”

Rangers have a better team than Hibernian and will head into the Scottish Cup final as favourites.

The Gers, though, should not get complacent, and Warburton must field his best available players against Hibs.

In a final anything is possible, and Rangers must not concede the first goal, especially the opening 15 minutes.

The Glasgow giants have won the Scottish Championship this season and have gained automatic promotion to the Scottish Premiership.

Rangers have also clinched the Scottish Challenge Cup, and winning the Scottish Cup will see claim the treble.
