Rangers are making moves for Joey Barton and Niko Kranjcar.
Rangers were always expected to be busy in the transfer market this summer, but fans have been taken aback by some of the names potentially heading to Ibrox.
Accrington Stanley duo Matt Crooks and Josh Windass will arrive later this summer having signed pre-contract agreements with Rangers back in January, whilst Liverpool teenager Jordan Rossiter also signed for Rangers on Friday evening.
Now though, it seems that manager Mark Warburton is keen to bring in proven quality and experienced head to add some balance to a youthful Gers side.
The Daily Record report that Joey Barton is nearing a three-year deal with Rangers, with his Burnley contract expiring this summer. The one-cap England international, 33, has impressed with Burnley this term as he helped them win promotion to the Premier League
Earlier today, the Daily Record also revealed that Rangers have entered talks over luring Niko Kranjcar to Ibrox, with the Croatian currently in the United States with New York Cosmos.
The 31-year-old playmaker is a big name having played for Portsmouth and Tottenham under Harry Redknapp, and fans are stunned with the calibre of players Warburton is targeting.
Supporters took to Twitter to admit their excitement, suggesting that Barton would be great for helping Rangers' young players, whilst also highlighting how important his fighting qualities would be in Old Firm derbies against Celtic next season.
Meanwhile, Kranjcar is seen as somebody who can help in Europe - which Rangers will qualify for if they beat Hibernian in the Scottish Cup final later this month - and want to see his undoubted quality at Ibrox next season.
Here are some of the reactions from Rangers fans after Barton and Kranjcar entered talks over moving to Ibrox this summer...
