Sunderland did not have a great season, but under manager Sam Allardyce, they did manage to stave off relegation to the Championship.
The Black Cats have finished 17th in the Premier League table with 39 points from 38 matches.
The fans have been brilliant throughout the season, and they must be given credit for the way they kept faith in the players.
For the last few years, Sunderland have become also-rans in the Premier League and have flirted with relegation.
Perhaps it is time that the club invest in the squad and give the fans something more than just another relegation fight to look forward to.
