John Aldridge makes a prediction about Danny Ings

Liverpool forward Danny Ings has missed most of the season with injury.

John Aldridge has suggested in The Liverpool Echo that Danny Ings will be a success under manager Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool next season.

Ings, who joined Liverpool in the summer of 2015 after leaving Burnley, has been injured for most of the season and has only just returned to competitive action.

The 23-year-old made his long-awaited return from injury against West Bromwich Albion away from home on Sunday.

The England international did not start the Premier League game at The Hawthorns, but he came on as a substitute in the 64th minute.

It was Ings’s first competitive appearance since October since rupturing a cruciate ligament, and he was welcomed back with open arms by the traveling Liverpool fans.

Former Liverpool striker Aldridge believes that Ings is a player who suits Klopp’s playing style.

“Come pre-season he’ll be flying and back amongst it and the fans will be right behind him,” Aldridge wrote in The Liverpool Echo.

“I think Ings is a ‘Klopp player’ in the way he plays. If he can add goals to the way he portrays himself on the pitch then he’ll be a huge favourite.”

Ings scored two goals and created five chances in six Premier League appearances for Liverpool this season.

During the 2014-15 campaign, the England international scored 11 goals and created 35 chances in 35 league matches for Burnley.
