John Hartson plays down Mauricio Pochettino achievement

Arsenal have finished above Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League table this season.

Former Arsenal striker John Hartson appears to have played down Mauricio Pochettino’s achievement with Tottenham Hotspur this season on social networking site Twitter.

Hartson was full of praise for Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger for leading his side to a second-placed finish in the Premier League table this season.

The former Wales international also pointed out the Gunners’ recent success in the FA Cup, and then suggested that Pochettino has done nothing much in the past two years.

The 41-year-old also highlighted the fact that Tottenham have spent big in recent years to assemble their current squad.

Hartson does make some valid points, both about Wenger and about Pochettino.

Pochettino has done a remarkable job at Tottenham over the past two seasons, and the North London outfit do appear to be going places.

However, Wenger is a much better manager, and his achievements with Arsenal over the years cannot be undermined.

Even this season when Spurs have looked like a force to be reckoned with, Arsenal have finished above them in second place in the Premier League table.
