Romelu Lukaku hit the woodwork more times than any other player this past season.

Romelu Lukaku scored an impressive 18 Premier League goals in 2015/16, but it could have been so much better.

The Belgian international ended the campaign with a 10 game goalless streak in all competitions, which could have wider implications in terms of his price tag, and clubs being willing to pay for him this summer.

Lukaku may however want to temper any concerns over his talent by pointing out that bad luck may have played a part too.

The 23-year-old struck the woodwork seven times this past season, more than any other Premier League player.

Interestingly the two players nearest to Lukaku were a duo who top scored in the division this season, Harry Kane and Jamie Vardy.

The trio sitting at the top of the list show that misfortune in hitting the woodwork is simply a result of taking a high number of shots – although a harsher assessment would attribute none of it down to luck – simply bad finishing.
