DeAndre Yedlin posts farewell message to Sunderland on Twitter

The Tottenham Hotspur defender has spent the season on loan at Sunderland.

Writing on social networking site Twitter on-loan Sunderland defender DeAndre Yedlin has praised the club as his temporary spell comes to an end.

The full-back spent the season on loan from Tottenham Hotspur, making 23 appearances across the season as the Black Cats secured their Premier League status.

He played a big part in that, being one of several Sunderland stars to flourish under manager Sam Allardyce’s guidance.

So far it is unknown whether he will return to the club next season, on loan or permanently, or look to break through at Spurs.

However, hit latest post on Twitter seems to suggest that a return to the Stadium of Light will not be on the cards.

Whether Yedlin can break into the Tottenham first-team is debatable given how Kyle Walker has impressed this season.

The full-back has established himself as the first choice at the club, and indeed could be a starter for England this summer.

Tottenham also have Kieran Trippier, who has proved to be an able deputy for Walker, meaning Yedlin faces a fight to get in if he does return to the club.
