Daniel Pudil expresses desire to stay at Sheffield Wednesday on Instagram

The Czech international is on a season-long loan from Watford.

Daniel Pudil says he hopes to stay at Sheffield Wednesday whatever happens this month.

Pudil arrived at Hillsborough on a season-long loan from Watford last August and featured 36 times to help Wednesday into the Championship play-offs.

The Owls travel to Brighton & Hove Albion in the second leg of their semi-final tie on Monday, leading 2-0 from Friday's home fixture.

But even if the worst should happen, Pudil is keen to remain in the Steel City next season.

"Doesnt matter whats gonna happen tonight i am proud of our team," posted the 30-year-old on Instagram ahead of the game. "Was a honour to spend this amazing year with you guys.

"I would like to say thank you to All of Sheffield Wednesday fans for your great support during a season ...

"We will see whats gonna happen with me for next season. Hopefully i will be still part of a Sheffield wednesday organization..."

Pudil is one of six Wednesday loanees facing an uncertain future, with the temporary deals of Michael Turner, Vincent Sasso, Joe Bennett, Alex Lopez and Aiden McGeady also set to expire following the Owls' play-off participation.

Should Carlos Carvalhal's men progress in Brighton, they are likely to face Yorkshire rivals Hull City in the Wembley final next Saturday.

The Seagulls have failed to score in their last six matches against Wednesday and could be without a number of key players due to injury.

Chris Hughton's men finished 15 points above their opponents in the regular standings.
