Mario Gotze has refused to commit to Bayern Munich beyond the summer when asked whether he will still be at the club amid speculation of a potential exit, German paper Bild report.

The German international has barely featured for Pep Guardiola’s men this season, often finding himself on the substitutes bench and a long way down the attacking pecking order.

As a result, he has been linked with a move to Liverpool and a reunion with boss Jurgen Klopp.

The Daily Star recently report the Reds’ interest and quote Bayern hero Franz Beckenbauer as urging the attacking midfielder to move to Anfield and join up with his ex-Dortmund coach.

When asked whether he could promise to remain at the Alliaz Arena following Bayern’s Bundesliga celebration, Gotze remained coy, responding: "I can promise that we will give this weekend full throttle.”

“I know that I have an ongoing contract. I can promise today to celebrate the title. The rest we will see. "

Gotze clearly has an abundance of ability but the growing competition for places in Munich means he has barely featured, including missing Bayern’s Champions League semi-final tie with Atletico Madrid.

Klopp brought through the World Cup winner while at Dortmund, and if there is anyone who can get the best out of Gotze, then the charismatic Liverpool coach is the man to do it.

The Merseysiders will be keen to strengthen this summer with a number of top quality signings, especially if Champions League football is assured via a Europa League final victory.
