Burnley midfielder Joey Barton is interested in joining Rangers in the summer transfer window, according to The Daily Record.
Barton is on the books of Championship club Burnley at the moment, but he will become a free agent in the summer.
According to The Daily Record, Burnley, who will play in the Premier League next season, have offered the former Newcastle United midfielder a new one-year deal. Rangers, though, are reported to be willing to give the 33-year-old a three-year deal.
Barton did well for Burnley in the Championship this season and was one of the best players in the division.
The former Manchester City midfielder is a high-profile player, and Rangers signing him would certainly make big news.
Rangers have won the Scottish Championship title this season and will feature in the Scottish Premiership during the 2016-17 campaign.
The Gers, who have also clinched the Scottish Challenge Cup this season, will take on Hibernian in the final of the Scottish Cup at Hampden Park in Glasgow this month.
