According to GianlucaDiMarzio, Liverpool target Loris Karius is keen on a switch to Anfield and could join the club for as little as £7.9 million as a result of his buyout clause.
The report claims that the Reds have been tracking the Mainz goalkeeper for some time now and scouts have alerted Jurgen Klopp of his ability, resulting in the 22-year-old becoming a top target.
The Reds have long had goalkeeping issues with current number one Simon Mignolet lacking competition despite being inconsistent and frustratingly error-prone.
Jurgen Klopp has on a number of occasions hinted he will stick by the Belgium international, but there is certainly scope to bring in potential competition which should have a positive impact.
Karius has been one of the stand-out goalkeepers in the Bundesliga this season, impressing for Mainz and helping the club achieve a top six spot and subsequent Europa League qualification.
However, the pull of Anfield seemingly interests the player, and the report by GianlucaDiMarzio claims that the Reds can buy him for as little as £7.9 million due to a release clause in his contract.
Karius has made 93 league appearances already for Mainz during his short career, and he will no doubt go on to play at the very top level for years to come whether at Liverpool or elsewhere.
