Newcastle have been relegated from the Premier League and will play in the Championship next season.
The Magpies regularly get over 45,000 fans for their home matches at St. James’ Park, but the players have severely underperformed this season.
Cundy has claimed on Twitter that the biggest myth in football is that Newcastle are a big club.
The former Chelsea and Spurs defender, who now works as a pundit for talkSPORT, has also claimed that that myth has been exposed this season yet again.
The biggest myth in football that @NUFC are a big club has been once again been exposed!!— Jason Victor Cundy (@jasoncundy05) May 14, 2016
Newcastle are a big club in terms of their fanbase, but sadly in terms of success, they have underachieved for years.
It will be hard for the Magpies in the Championship next season, as it is a very competitive and physical division, perhaps more than the Premier League.
However, if Rafael Benitez remains at St. James’ Park and is able to sign the players he wants to, then Newcastle will have a good chance of finishing in the top six of the Championship next season.
