Liverpool are close to completing the signing of Piotr Zielinski, according to reports in his native Poland.
News outlet Przeglad Sportowy report that Zielinski is in advanced talks with Liverpool about a deal, which is expected to be completed within days.
The report reads: "Talks between representatives of Zielinski and Europa League finalists enter into a crucial phase, and on Monday the negotiations are to be finalised.
"Wednesday at the latest Empoli player will have signed a contract with the Reds."
The report adds that Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is a keen admirer of the 21-year-old midfielder.
Zielinski has scored five goals and provided four assists from a central midfield role for Empoli this season, from 35 appearances in Serie A.
While featuring for Empoli on loan, he is contracted to Udinese, who he joined in 2012. He has spent the last two seasons on loan, and has 13 international caps, expected to feature prominently at Euro 2016.
Zielinski has been talking up a move to Liverpool recently, quoted in the Liverpool Echo earlier this month stating it would be an 'honour' to work with former Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp. Now it seems his wish is on the verge of coming true.
