Celtic defender Kieran Tierney has told The Scottish Sun that he is thankful to his teammate Emilio Izaguirre.
Izaguirre has been on the books of Celtic since 2010 and has a contract until June 2017.
The Honduras international has lost his place in the team to the 18-year-old Tierney, who has been very impressive with his performances at left-back for Ronny Deila’s side this season.
The Scotland international, who has featured for Celtic both in the Scottish Premiership and in the Europa League this season, has thanked Izaguirre for his help.
“Emilio has been a top professional and he’s helped a lot,” Tierney told The Scottish Sun. “We were close when I was breaking through and he’s been a big help. I hope we’ll keep in touch.”
Celtic will take on Motherwell at Celtic Park in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday afternoon.
The Bhoys have already won the league title this campaign, and this will be Deila’s first game in charge of the Glasgow giants.
