The 17-year-old midfielder put in a fine display.
Everton played their first game since the sacking of Roberto Martinez today with youth-team coach David Unsworth and former boss Joe Royle taking over proceedings for this weekend’s game against Norwich City at Goodison Park.
Everton certainly looked more up for it and won the game comfortably, 3-0, with goals from James McCarthy, Kevin Mirallas and Leighton Baines.
Unsworth decided to bring in some of the young players to start the game, with Kieran Dowell and Tom Davies both starting.
Both played extremely well with Davies in particular impressing.
After the game Unsworth was speaking to the media and had this to say about the central midfielder:
"I thought Tom Davies was everything we want from an Everton midfielder.”
“All action, good on the ball, saw danger. It was a great display."
The midfield maestro is undoubtedly a top talent and was invited to train with the England senior team at one point last season.
He is just 17-years-old but looks already to be a real star in the making for Everton – who have produced so many good youngsters in recent years.
Hopefully he will continue to get a chance in the Everton first-team throughout next season, as he looks like a player who could really make the grade at Goodison Park.
