Chris Waddle suggested on the BBC 5 live 606 show on Saturday evening (May 14) that Newcastle United need to send some of their big-earners out on loan next season.
Newcastle have been relegated from the Premier League and will play in the Championship next season.
The Magpies do have some very good players and invested in the squad in the summer of 2015 and then again in the January transfer window, but they have severely underperformed this season.
Former Newcastle attacker Waddle has suggested that the Magpies need to make changes to their squad for the 2016-17 Championship season.
“With Newcastle, can we get these players out on maybe a year loan, the club pays them some money for the year loan, because there are not a lot of people who are going to ring this club up and say, ‘I am going to give 15, 20 million or 5, 10 million what you have paid for these players’,” said the former Tottenham Hotspur star on the BBC 5 live 606 show on Saturday evening (May 14).
Newcastle will have to made financial cuts in the summer in order to adapt to life in the Championship next season, and it will be interesting to see how many players they sell or send out on loan.
Would the likes of Georginio Wijnaldum, Moussa Sissoko, Andros Townsend and Aleksandar Mitrovic be willing to play in the second tier of English football next season?
