The Owls took one giant step towards the Championship play-off final.
Tom Lees has claimed that the atmosphere inside Hillsborough during Sheffield Wednesday's play-off semi-final with Brighton was the best he has every played in by some distance, the Sheffield Star reports.
Carlos Carvalhal's men managed to put one foot in the final as goals from Ross Wallace and Kieran Lee saw them secure a 2-0 win against the Seagulls.
And the centre-back has suggested that the support from the fans was one of the key reasons why the team were able to bag such a massive win.
"It was absolutely unreal," he told the Star. "It was the best atmosphere I've played in by a country mile."
With Chris Hughton's side finishing the season in third place, the Owls would have gone into the first leg knowing that they were underdogs and needed to get a positive result from their home tie to stand a chance of getting through.
Nevertheless, the side could not have imagined that they would enjoy such an emphatic performance against a team that went into the final day of the regular season still in with a chance of clinching automatic promotion.
And the belief that they would have got from the win will undoubtedly help them when they travel to the Amex Stadium for the second leg.
