Sunderland take on Watford in their final game of the season this weekend.
Sunderland secured their Premier League status on Wednesday as a win over Everton aw them survive and relegate both Newcastle United and Norwich City.
That of course sparked wild celebrations, as not only had they survived, but it also came at the cost of their rivals dropping into the Championship.
It makes this weekend’s final game of the season a dead rubber, with the suggestion already being that they will field a team with several youngsters.
Despite there being little motivation for his side, Allardyce has insisted on Twitter that they will be giving their all.
Despite all the celebrations...we are 100% focussed on getting all 3 points at Vicarage Road tomorrow. #RedAndWhiteArmy— Sam Allardyce (@OfficialBigSam) May 14, 2016
Unfortunately for Allardyce, there will be no stopping his squad, and the fans, looking to what they hope will be a bright future.
The Black Cats are expected to establish themselves under his leadership, and avoid what has become a regular end of season survival scrap.
Indeed, talk has already begun about the work they may do in the summer transfer window, where they will be hoping to enjoy similar success to what they enjoyed in January.
