Newcastle United will not sell their players unless it is on their terms, however.
Moussa Sissoko, Papiss Cisse, Daryl Janmaat, Cheick Tiote and Georginio Wijnaldum are all looking to leave Newcastle United, reports the Shields Gazette.
Newcastle United were officially relegated to the Championship this week as Sunderland’s win over Everton sentenced them to the drop.
A major summer overhaul of the squad is expected, as many believe that this current crop would not be suited to the demands of the Championship.
And according to the Shields Gazette, there are already five first team players eyeing their exits from the club.
Moussa Sissoko, Papiss Cisse, Daryl Janmaat, Cheick Tiote and Georginio Wijnaldum are all looking to leave, and may not be the only ones either.
Unfortunately for them, club owner Mike Ashley will not sanction their sales purely to balance the books, and any departures will be on the club’s terms.
Indeed, the decision will be firmly left in the hands of manager Rafa Benitez should he decide to stay at the club.
It is as yet unknown whether he will remain at St James Park, with him having a break clause in hi s current contract and undecided on his future.
