Liverpool are officially the only club to make a move for the Bayern Munich man at this point, according to the latest reports.

Liverpool are the only team to have officially made an approach for Bayern Munich midfielder Mario Gotze, according to Bild.

The German star is looking extremely likely to leave the Allianz Arena this summer after a somewhat disappointing spell at the club.

He has struggled for game time under Pep Guardiola and, according to Suddeutsche Zeitung, has been told by incoming manager Carlo Ancelotti he is not in his plans either.

A move to Liverpool has been heavily mooted for several months, with many believing a reunion with Jurgen Klopp would be good for Gotze.

So far that has been just speculation, but now Bild are reporting that the Reds are officially the only team to have made an approach for his services.

According to them, they are seriously interested in the midfielder and Klopp is keen to bring him to Anfield this summer.

He would not be an expensive purchase for them either, with a €25million price currently set for him, around £19.6million.

Unfortunately for them, Gotze is more interested in a return to former club Borussia Dortmund, although that may be difficult given their recent capture of Ousmane Dembele.
