Parlour makes interesting West Brom versus Liverpool prediction

West Bromwich Albion host Liverpool on Sunday.

Ray Parlour believes West Bromwich Albion will defeat Liverpool 1-0 on Sunday as he predicts Jurgen Klopp will make a number of changes ahead of the Europa League final, Betsafe reports.

The Baggies head into the encounter in poor form having gone eight Premier League matches without a victory, prompting speculation over manager Tony Pulis’s future.

Liverpool have noticeably improved since around February time, winning seven of their last 12 league encounters and reaching the final of the Europa League following their 3-1 aggregate win over Villarreal.

The Reds will know that victory over Sevilla in the final will guarantee Champions League football next season, and as a result Parlour predicts plenty of changes on Sunday and a West Brom win.

“Liverpool have got that big Europa League final. They can’t get in the top four, so I’m expecting lots of changes and that might be an opportunity for West Bromwich Albion. For that reason, I’m going for not many goals and 1-0 win for West Brom,” he told Betsafe.

The Baggies long secured their Premier League status which may have caused their form to decline, yet the team’s rigid style of play is what has turned a number of supporters off this season.

Pulis needs a big performance from his players on Sunday to head in to the summer on a high, as defeat could subsequently place further pressure on the board to make a change.

Liverpool will see this game at the Hawthorns as nothing more than a warm-up for Sevilla, so a mixture of youth and key first-team players perhaps lacking a bit of fitness can be expected.
