Rosicky joined Arsenal in the summer of 2006 from Borussia Dortmund and the midfielder has been a great servant for the Gunners over the last decade, making close to 250 appearances for the club.
However, the 2015/16 season has been a very difficult one for Rosicky as he has not made a single appearance in the Premier League due to injury and it was confirmed yesterday by manager Arsene Wenger that the midfielder will be leaving the Emirates Stadium at the end of the season upon the expiration of his contract.
Rosicky is not expected to feature during Arsenal’s final game of the campaign against Aston Villa at the Emirates Stadium this weekend but the midfielder will be joining the rest of the squad in the traditional end of season lap of honour following the encounter.
The departure of Rosicky perhaps comes at the right time but many are sadden by his exit and teammate Jack Wilshere is one of them.
As a touching tribute to Rosicky, Wilshere has now gone on to post the following message on Social Media website Twitter: “This guy has been with me since the start of my career, through thick and thin and always showed me the way when things have been tough.'
“Going to miss him around the place and even more on the pitch. It's been a pleasure my friend and I wish you all the luck in the world.”
