St James Park

Don Hutchison hopes that Newcastle United, Sunderland and Middlesbrough will be in the Premier League for the 2017-18 campaign.

Former Sunderland midfielder Don Hutchison has taken to social networking site Twitter to reveal his hopes for the three North East clubs next season.

Hutchison wants the Black Cats, Newcastle United and Middlesbrough to feature in the Premier League for the 2017-18 campaign.

The former Scotland international has also praised Sunderland manager Sam Allardyce for masterminding a stunning escape from relegation to the Championship.

The Black Cats won 3-0 against Everton at the Stadium of Light on Wednesday evening to retain their Premier League status for next season.

Newcastle have been relegated to the Championship, while Middlesbrough have been promoted to the English top flight.

Newcastle will find it hard in the Championship, and they may not even finish in the top six.

There is huge competition in the second tier of English football, and the division is very tough and physical.

As for Sunderland and Middlesbrough, the duo will be expected by many to struggle for survival in the Premier League next season.
