Kevin Mirallas’ latest Instagram post has hinted that some of the Everton squad are not too upset by the sacking of Roberto Martinez.
Roberto Martinez lost his job as Everton manager on Thursday afternoon following a highly disappointing season for the Toffees.
They currently sit 12th in the table and set to finish outside of the top ten in the Premier League for the second successive season.
Much of the blame was placed on Martinez, with large number of fans calling for his exit in protests over recent weeks.
Indeed, his sacking was met with widespread pleasure from the Blues faithful, and Mirallas’ Instagram post hints that the players are not unhappy about the situation either.
It’s hardly surprising to find Mirallas in particular is pleased to see Martinez leaving given how he has been marginalised this season.
The Belgian has found himself limited to substitute appearances and the relationship between him and his former boss had looked awkward to say the least.
His lack of playing time appears to have cost him a place in Belgium’s squad for Euro 2016 this summer and he will be hoping he can re-establish himself under the new Everton manager.
