Sheffield Wednesday won against Brighton & Hove Albion in the first leg of the Championship semi-final playoff tie on Friday.

Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Barry Bannan has taken to social networking site Twitter to give his reaction to the win against Brighton & Hove Albion at home on Friday evening.

Wednesday got the better of Brighton 2-0 at home in the first leg of the Championship playoff semi-final tie.

Carlos Carvalhal’s side went ahead at the Hillsborough Stadium through Lee Wallace on the stroke of half time.

Kieran Lee doubled the advantage for the Owls in the 73rd minute, as Brighton ended the game with 10 men due to injuries.

Bannan started the match and played for the entire 90 minutes, and he has expressed his delight at the atmosphere on Twitter, with Wednesday fans responding to his message on the social networking site.

Wednesday played well against Brighton and deserved to win the first leg of the Championship playoff semi-final tie.

The Owls will head into the second leg on Monday evening as favourites, but they must be careful about not conceding an early goal.

Brighton will be determined to step up their game at home, and if they score first, then they will fancy their chances of adding more more to their tally.
