Moreno joined Premier League outfit Liverpool from Spanish club Sevilla in the summer of 2014.
Reyes, who has been at Sevilla since 2012, was on the books of Arsenal from 2004 until 2007.
The 32-year-old Spanish winger did not have a great time at the Gunners, but he had positive words about the Premier League and football in England.
“He said I would really enjoy it, the atmosphere of the stadiums, the way the supporters are,” Moreno told The Daily Mail while revealing the discussion between him and Reyes before his move to Liverpool.
Moreno has scored one goal and created 61 chances in 32 Premier League appearances for Liverpool this season.
The Spain international left-back has a pass accuracy of 81% and a shot accuracy of 35%, and has 13 headers, 16 dribbles and 69 tackles.
The 23-year-old scored two goals and created 33 chances in 28 league matches for the Reds last season.
Moreno had a pass accuracy of 82% and a shot accuracy of 36%, and won 12 headers, 13 dribbles and 40 tackles.
