The first-team pair, along with Brad Smith, picked up awards at the Liverpool end of season ceremony last night.
Liverpool held their annual award ceremony for the club yesterday, after a topsy-turvy season under Brendan Rodgers and now Jurgen Klopp.
The German has however guided the team to two major cup finals, the Capital One Cup – which they lost to Manchester City on penalties – and the Europa League final, which they play this weekend.
One of the star players of the campaign has been Philippe Coutinho and that was recognised at the award ceremony last night.
The Brazilian scooped four awards, Player of the Season, Players’ Player of the Season, Goal of the Season and Performance of the Season.
It was a quartet of prizes that earned him plenty of praise from currently injured Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson.
He sent this Instagram message to the Liverpool playmaker earlier today:
Henderson, who has been out for over a month with a knee injury, also made reference to Emre Can and Brad Smith.
Can won the Young Player of the Year award whilst Australian left-back Smith was awarded the Academy’s Players’ Player of the Year award.
Henderson, who was expected to miss England’s Euro 2016 campaign, recently returned to full training for Liverpool and will now be hoping to earn a place in Roy Hodgson’s squad – which is announced Monday.
