The Celtic striker has scored 40 goals in all competitions this season.
The forward has enjoyed a goal filled campaign as he has fired his side to the Scottish Premiership title.
He has managed 40 goals in all competitions, with 31 of those coming in their title winning league campaign.
It is an impressive achievement from Griffiths, who only managed half that amount in last season’s league campaign.
Collins is one who has been impressed, saying that the striker has got to take a lot of the credit himself.
“Leigh has got to take a lot of the credit himself,” he told celticfc.net
“He’s worked hard and got his reward. The important thing is that he continues to work hard and keeps scoring goals for the club.”
“When someone scores 40 goals you’ve got to say it’s a very high standard. It’s a great achievement, he can be proud of it and you can tell he enjoyed it.”
Griffiths will now be hoping he can enjoy another goal laden campaign next season under the club’s new manager.
Ronny Deila has confirmed he will be leaving at the end of the season and despite their title success this season the players will have to impress the new manager that comes in.
It would be surprising to see Griffiths not leading the line given his displays this year, but he will now he has work to do to ensure that he is the number one again.
