With Newcastle having been relegated from the Premier League, it remains to been seen whether Benitez decides to remain at St. James’ Park and guide the club back to the English top flight.
Balague has revealed that the former Liverpool and Chelsea boss has offers from China and the Far East, but he has claimed that the Spaniard could decide to remain at the Magpies.
“There are very few jobs that he would consider taking in the Premier League and I know he is definitively not considering a return to Spain – certainly not at the moment anyway,” Balague wrote on Yahoo.com.
“He has received a host of offers from China and the Far East but doesn’t feel that his career should be heading in that direction for the time being.
“Ultimately another of the reasons that might well convince him to stay is that despite the pain of relegation, as brief as the journey has been to date it has been an enjoyable one for him.”
Benitez may not have been able to prevent Newcastle from getting relegated to the Championship, but the Spaniard is very popular among the fans.
The St. James’ Park faithful appear to be in favour of the Spaniard remaining in charge of the team and guiding the club out of the Championship.
Interestingly, the former Real Madrid coach has also been linked with the Everton managerial job.
According to a recent report in The Independent, Benitez would consider the prospect of succeeding Roberto Martinez at Goodison Park if approached.
